Sports Performance Training (Year Round – Indoor)

To register for winter programs click HERE or to learn more about each program we have highlighted them on the page below…

Our Sports Performance Programs at the SoccerFIT Academy will be offered every hour 3:30-8:30pm (5 classes per day), and players are urged to attend two sessions per week (Monday & Wednesday or Tuesday & Thursday) for best results.  These programs are listed out below with video examples of each.

The first two weeks of this program (the winter 2011 program is 17 weeks long – November 7th to March 1st) will be spent introducing each of the programs to our clients as we test and evaluate their abilities. After that, they will be placed in the program that best addresses their individual needs. There will be no need for athletes to switch time slots. But instead, they be placed into a training program that fits their needs during the time slot they selected.

Evaluations (pictured) are available online for athletes and parents to keep track of monthly progress,  these evaluations are also used to re-evaluate improvements and make appropriate training adjustments. Many times players want to train in areas in which they are already strong. This program identifies the athlete’s weaknesses, and guides the player through a developmental plan that targets their weaknesses alongside their strengths while setting them on the right track to becoming a more “balanced” athlete.

This is the most comprehensive program we have ever run, and we have set it up to work with almost any schedule. If players have duel weaknesses they can alternate classes day-to-day, or week-to-week without changing time slots. Also, if a conflict should arise, the athlete may switch to a different time slot by emailing us directly.

AthleteFIT Program: Athletic Foundation – Level 1

This is our base program (the cornerstone of our athletic development program). We use the techniques learned in this class as the scaffolding from which we build athletic skill. This program will introduce the athlete to the entire spectrum of the physical side of sports performance as it strengthens their confidence in an athletic environment. Here are some of the areas targeted in this program:

Athletic Movement Skills

  • Rhythmic Speed Drills
  • Change of Pace Conditioning
  • Quick Feet Agility Drills
  • Jump Training

Core / Strength Training

  • Multi-Directional Core Strength
  • Dumbbell and Medicine Ball Training
  • Athleticism Based Strength Training

The AthleteFIT program is great for athletes of any age that may need to improve their form and understanding of athletic movement, while building a base of strength and conditioning. This program is where we will usually place newer athletes to our program as it will provide the base of education from which we will progress. This program teaches speed and agility from a technical perspective, while our other programs focus on applying speed and agility in repeated, powerful bursts in a strength or fitness environment. Below is a video of how we integrate strength movements into an athletic training training environment. Register for this program by clicking HERE

PowerFIT & Speed FIT Circuits:

This is a new program for us that will take advantage of the power and speed producing aspects our new equipment. We will integrate this equipment into our model of proven athletic strength protocols in a circuit style that not only builds speed, power and strength, but also enhances muscular and cardiovascular endurance as well as heart rate recovery. Here are some of the areas this program will address:

Power Endurance

  • Cybex PowerFIT Trainer for Power Endurance
  • Bodyweight, Med Ball and DB Circuits
  • Explosive Core Strength Exercises

Repeated Speed Endurance

  • Woodway Curve Treadmill for Speed Endurance
  • Bodyweight, Med Ball and DB Circuits
  • Plyometric Box and Stair Exercises

The PowerFIT & SpeedFIT Circuit Programs will be perfect for those players that need a well-rounded base of athletic strength and conditioning. This program starts off in an educational format and progresses to intense training circuits by the end of the winter. Below is a picture of a HR graph from one of these sessions. You will notice the wave like patterns of increasing intensity as we alternate blocks of fitness and strength. Register for this program by clicking HERE.

Advanced Strength/Power:

The Advanced Strength/Power program is not focused on conditioning or speed technique, but instead is designed for those smaller, quicker players who need to get stronger in order to take their speed or power on the field or court to the next level. This program is designed for advanced players that have spent at least one full year in our program and will be individualized for each participant. Below is a video of how we progress our plyometric training aspects alongside our strength programs.

Advanced Plyometric Training

  • Peaking Speed/Vertical Exercises
  • Core, Lower and Upper Body Med Ball Drills
  • Progression Based Plyometrics

Advanced Strength Training

  • Programs Designed Around the Clean and Squat
  • Peaking Strength in Relation to Body Type
  • Maximizing Athletic Strength
